• Christopher

Christopher’s artistic journey as a photographer began during his study of Cinematography in the late 1990s. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Production. Dirt & Grain is an existential space, a continued expansion of that early passion for creating visual art.

Those that take the time to digest his work will receive a consistent dose of outdoor lifestyle and travel-centric visuals. Optical flaws are generally present from his mixed use of expired film stock, vintage technology and adapted legacy glass. Exploring photographic genres and their related techniques are paramount to Christopher’s curious nature and creative-growth mindset. It is not uncommon to notice regular departures from his creative comfort zones. He’s never been motivated to seek a commercial or freelance photographer’s lifestyle, however his images have been featured in editorial publications and various digital media platforms.

In a broader existential context, Christopher believes his journey in photography is no different than in his personal life: exploring, maintaining kindness, practicing intellectual curiosity, encouraging a collaboration over competition attitude— and above all, enjoying the human experience of “play” while capturing it all in analog or digital grain.
